BISHOP’S CASTLE, CHIRBURY & WORTHEN AND CLUN LOCAL JOINT COMMITTEE

 Grant Funding Guidance

 The total sum available for this year is £49,000.  £20,000 has been allocated to a Community Chest scheme and the remaining £29,000 to a General Grants scheme as follows: 

Community Chest Scheme - Grants of up to £500, no match funding required. 

General Grants – Grants over £500.  Match funding will be required, to be negotiated on a case by case basis and can include volunteer time if appropriate. 

• Applications will be accepted from Community Groups and Registered Charities operating in the following parishes:

Bedstone and Bucknell, Bettws-y-Crwyn, Bishop's Castle, Chirbury with Brompton, Clun, Clunbury, Clungunford, Edgton, Hopton Castle, Llanfairwaterdine, Lydbury North, Lydham and More, Mainstone with Colebatch, Myndtown, Norbury, Ratlinghope and Wentnor, Newcastle on Clun, Stowe, Worthen with Shelve. 

• All applications must be accompanied by an up to date bank statement.
   
• Before applying for a grant, applicants must speak to Frances Hall, Community Regeneration Officer (contact details below) who will give help and advice and answer any queries.
   
• Deadlines for completed applications are Monday 31 August 2009; Friday 30 November 2009 and Friday 12 February.
   
• All projects that include payment for goods and services must follow Shropshire Council Procurement Rules (see below).
