Big screen cinema continues in Clun for the Spring Season 2008.  Dates are as follows:

 

 Saturday 22 March The Bourne Ultimatum cert PG-13  111 minutes  with Matt Damon, Joan Allen, Julia Stiles. Bourne dodges new superior assassins as he searches for his unknown past while a government agent tries to track him down. “Relentlessly ridiculous, and relentlessly enjoyable action romp” Peter Bradshaw, Guardian

Saturday 5 April  The Painted Veil cert 12A 125 minutes USA Drama/Romance  with Edward Norton, Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts, Toby Jones   A strait-laced doctor punishes his unfaithful wife by accepting a job fighting a cholera epidemic in China’s hinterland in the 1920’s and taking her along.  From a story by Somerset Maugham “Faultless, powerful film-making” Andrew Pulver, Guardian

Saturday 26 Aprill   Hairspray  cert PG USA Comedy/Musical 107 minutes  with Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Christopher Walken, James Marsden, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nikki Blonsky, Queen Latifah, Zac Efron  Tracy Turnblad, an overweight teenager with all the right moves, is obsessed with the Corny Collins Show.  When a chance to dance on the show arrives, Tracy quickly takes the opportunity.  Not only does her dancing skills attract Corny Collins, but also the attention of teenage heart throb, Link Larkin. The film version of the award winning musical.

If you haven't experienced our rural cinema, it is well worth a visit.  Big screen, stereo speakers, a chance to meet the neighbours and have an interval chat.  We all have a great time.  By the way, if you are an Archer's fan, you will here talk of  "Films in the Fields".    Guess where that came from?  Ian Kerry, Arts Alive Films Organiser, has been providing help and information to BBC Midlands Radio from his experience with Flicks.
